I am honored to be representing the TEAM this week in St Louis for the “28 Hour Plays,” for which playwrights and actors from around the country are joining with St. Louisans to write and perform in 80, one-minute plays in reaction to Mike Brown’s murder in Ferguson in 2014…In the last four days I have begun to understand for the first time something about what it is to be American. And it is beyond unsettling.
We’re headed both west and east this weekend: RoosevElvis is loading in at the Royal Court as we speak, and our very own Jake Margolin is simultaneously gearing up to represent the company in Ferguson, MO as part of #Every28Hours. It’s going to be a busy week in both cities!
This October, we’re incredibly proud to be participating in Every 28 Hours, a national delegation of theatres and artists headed to Ferguson and St. Louis. TEAM member Jake Margolin will join an incredible roster of artists to stage a series of one-minute, site-specific plays in response to the widely shared statistic that every 28 hours in America, a black person is killed by the police.
Join us for two evening classes in Brooklyn before the summer winds down and the fall season ramps up: “Self-Producing for Artists and Ensembles” on August 26, and “Directing for Ensembles and Devised Work” on September 2.
Big news! We are so very excited that RoosevElvis is headed to The Royal Court Theatre in October for its official London debut. Tickets are on sale to the public beginning Friday, July 17th.
Teddy and Elvis will be hitting the road once again! RoosevElvis will bring some hunka hunka burnin’ love to our friends in Minneapolis for the Walker Arts Center’s 2016 Out There Festival, January 7th-9th, and to A.R.T.’s OBERON, May 6th-29th.
We’re excited to announce our first foray into podcasting! Starting Friday morning (at 8:55am!), you can hear snippets of songs and stories recorded during our most recent workshop of Primer for a Failed Superpower as part of Mayfest Radio.
To celebrate a decade together, we’re throwing a party to top them all with a performance of scenes, songs, and highlights from our past ten years, featuring: Mandy Patinkin, Kathryn Grody, Taylor Mac, Cristin Milioti, Lucy Alibar, TR Knight, Cory Michael Smith, and a whole lot more…
We’re auditioning for the next developmental workshop of Primer For a Failed Superpower in April. Community-minded citizens ages 65+, apply within! We’re looking for a diverse group of collaborators who are interested in creatively expressing their opinions and experiences about America. Also, we want you to join our band…
Over the month of December, as the TEAM celebrates its 10 Year Anniversary, the company will share their favorite memories from the last 10 years.
